Raw Milk Mint Chip Ice Cream

Use raw whole milk. We should strive to make sure that everything we put in our bodies makes us healthier. The pasteurization, or heating process, of conventional milk decreases the nutritional quality. So look for a quality raw milk to maximize the nutritional benefits.

Yummm, who doesn't love ice cream? And in southern California, it's already ice cream weather. Woo hoo!!! 

This recipe is adapted from one of my favorite cookbooks:

Here are the ingredients I use:

2 egg yolks
1 whole egg
1/2 cup grade B maple syrup
1 TBS vanilla extract
1 TBS arrowroot
2 cups raw grass-fed cream
1 cup raw grass-fed milk
5 drops of Young Living peppermint essential oil

2 TBS coconut oil


P.S. Did you notice that we left off the "on a budget" part of the tip? This is one of our healthy splurges. Raw milk and cream are not cheap, be we wouldn't do dairy any other way. We are in search of a local farm to help bring down our costs. Fingers crossed!
